ArtThatFits Blog » Think you might be Bravo TV’s first Top Artist?

According to the LA Times arts blog, “Culture Monster,” a new art-focused reality TV series is in the works for Bravo TV network.

The premise of the show is much like “Project Runway“ and “Top Chef.” 13 contestants, through various challenges (sculpture, painting, photography, etc.), compete to win a gallery exhibition, cash prize, sponsored national tour, and a coveted title, which knowing Bravo, will be something like “Top Artist.”

The not-yet-titled show will be produced by none other than Sarah Jessica Parker (whose name alone will bring glamour to the series) through her production company, Pretty Matches, along with Magical Elves and Eli Holzman production companies (some of the names behind some of Bravo’s other uber successful series such as “Project Runway,” “Top Chef,” and “Runway”).

As a fervent art appreciator, pop cuture lover and admitted reality TV addict, I am sure I’ll add this series to my must watch list! Aside from all of that, I’m beyond thrilled that the contemporary art scene will begin to appear on more viewers’ radars, something we, as art publishers of many genres (including contemporary), can get very excited about…

So, if you think you have it in you, pick up a brush or camera, get those creative hands at the ready and check out the locations, dates and times of an audition near you – click here for all of the necessary information.

Good luck & create away!
