Now that June is upon us, you’ve probably already received at least one wedding invitation to a nuptial ceremony. Now the question awaits: What to get the happy couple?

And for some, the answer is easy. You might purchase an item off of the couple’s registry list, perhaps a place setting of the couple’s selected china, or simply some money or a gift card so the couple may select something for themselves.

I, however, take a different approach – my #1 goal with almost any gift is to really make it something special. I love searching for artistic or personalized gifts! I especially love giving gifts that have been artistically monogrammed with the new couple’s initials or last name. And as a newlywed myself, these are the gifts that I especially love receiving!

So, I thought I’d save you some shopping time & compile a list of fantastic wedding gift ideas for you, first some personalized items:

A set of monogrammed towels, like these from Restoration Hardware, is a must for any household and the newlywed couple will learn that they can never have too many towels! A monogrammed set is especially nice for when guests stop by. As for color selection, I look on a couple’s registry to learn what color linens and decor they selected & go from there. Most recently, I purchased powder blue towels & had the couple’s monogram done in chocolate brown – it was a favorite gift of theirs at a shower!

One thing many couples might not think to register for is a lovely welcome mat. Can you think of a more ideal way to welcome guests to the couple’s new home? And, when they come or go, they’ll think of you each time they see that perfectly personalized mat, like this beauty from Williams-Sonoma.

Another creative, personal wedding gift idea would be a pair of monogrammed bathrobes. Customized bathrobes, such as this one from Pottery Barn would add a special touch to the new couple’s bath time and morning routine.

This set of monogrammed wine tumblers, from Williams-Sonoma, would be the ideal touch to any home’s bar service. The modern design and etched initial make this set something really special. Wine & cheese nights and dinner parties will always be a celebration with this luxurious set of wine tumblers.

Personalized bedding would be a luxurious gift for a newly married couple! Pottery Barn carries a variety of customizable sheets, duvets and more to make a honeymooning couple’s room more comfortable.

I love the idea of gifting a fantastic set of monogrammed tote bags, such as these from LL Bean! Now that everyone’s trying to be as eco-friendly as possible, reusable tote bags are an essential; and a nice set of canvas tote bags would be an ideal gift for the new couple.

Monogrammed soaps are a welcome addition to any bath or powder room and are a cost effective way to give a personalized gift. Simply gift wrap these soaps in a nice basket along with lotions, towels, a candle & bath time will be perfect!

What bride & groom wouldn’t love a matching pair of monogrammed aprons? Can you imagine the new couple barbecuing on the weekends in their aprons – what a Kodak moment?!? This apron can be found at Williams-Sonoma.

What Art That Fits post would be complete without a bit of art? And what better gift could there be? Especially if it’s something personal to the bride & groom. I’ve made a few selections of some Artaissance pieces that might be a perfect fit into any newlywed’s home:

“A, crown” from the Biltmore alphabet series.

“H” by Rodney White from the Rodney White alphabet series

“P, figurative” from the Biltmore alphabet series

“S” by Rodney White from the Rodney White alphabet series

“E, decorative” from the Biltmore alphabet series

The five images above are from the Biltmore alphabet series and the Rodney White Alphabet series – each letter of the alphabet is available throughout both of those collections. An image of the newly married couple’s last initial will most definitely become a treasured piece in their new home!

Finally, one of my very favorite (and most frequently used) personalized wedding gift ideas is a framed wedding invitation:

For the last three weddings I’ve attended, as well as one coming up in two weeks, I will have given the happy couple their treasured wedding invitation custom framed in a beautiful design. Custom framing the invitation is an ideal way to give a piece of art that a couple will surely treasure for years to come! The frame above is by Larson-Juhl.

I hope some of these suggestions & ideas have inspired you to become creative (and artistic!) with the next wedding gift you’re due to give. Specially created and personalized gifts will always be most treasured by the new couple!
